Why we don't sell bows online
There is no cart on this website. That is a choice, and people ask about it, so here is the reasoning.
A bow is not a size
Buy boots online and the worst case is you send them back. A bow is not like that.
A bow that fits you is a set of numbers: draw length measured off your actual wingspan and anchor, a draw weight you can hold at the end of a long sit rather than haul back once in a parking lot, a grip that puts your hand in the same place every time, a rest and a release matched to how you shoot.
Get those wrong and you do not end up with a bow that is slightly less good. You end up with a bow that teaches you bad habits, because you will unconsciously contort to make it work. Undoing that takes a year.
The box does not come tuned
A bow shipped to your door has been assembled, not tuned. Nobody has paper tuned it, checked center shot, set nock height, timed the cams to your draw, or tied in a peep at your anchor.
None of that is optional. It is the difference between a bow that shoots and a bow that shoots where you are looking. And it requires a bench and a range, which is precisely what you are opting out of when you order online.
What you actually save
Less than the sticker suggests, once you pay somebody to set it up. And you give up the part that does not show on any invoice: somebody who knows your bow.
When your groups open up in March, you call a shop that has your numbers on file. When your broadheads print six inches off in September, you drive fifteen minutes. When you need a part on a Thursday before opening weekend, there is a person who will look for it.
What we are not saying
We are not saying you are a fool for buying online, and we are not going to make you feel like one at the counter.
Bring us the bow. We tune bows that were bought somewhere else all the time and we do it without commentary. That is a service, not a favour, and you are as welcome here as anybody.
What buying here gets you
Fitted to your measurements. Paper tuned, timed, center shot checked, nock height set. Shot on our range before it leaves. Then looked over a second time, which is a rule that predates everybody currently working here.
And a discount range card, honored for a year from the day you buy, so there is somewhere to put the practice in.
The larger point
This shop has been here since 1957 because people came back. Not because of a transaction. Because of what happened after it.
You cannot ship that. So we did not build a store that pretends you can.
